Sa Pinto: Jestem dumny, że mogłem pracować w Legii Warszawa

46-letni Ricardo Sa Pinto przerwał milczenie po tym jak został zwolniony z Legii Warszawa. Portugalczyk przyznał na Instagramie, że czuje dumę z pracy w Legii Warszawa.

Szkoleniowiec pochodzący z Półwyspu Iberyjskiego pracował w klubie ze stolicy od sierpnia ubiegłego roku do 1 kwietnia. Dariusz Mioduski nie wytrzymał ciśnienia i postanowił pozbył się Ricardo Sa Pinto po kompromitującej porażce z krakowską Wisłą (0:4). – Nadszedł właściwy moment, aby skierować kilka słów w kierunku kibiców Legii Warszawa, którzy nadal się ze mną kontaktują i śledzą moją karierę trenerską – stwierdził Sa Pinto. – Przyznaję, że czuję ogromną dumę, że zostałem wybrany do poprowadzenia Legii. To ogromny klub, który ma miliony fanów i są bez wątpienia najlepszymi na świecie. – dodał.

– W momencie przejęcia zespołu, klub zajmował piątą lokatę w Lotto Ekstraklasie. Zauważyłem brak pewności siebie u zawodników, który wynikał ze słabych wyników w lidze oraz eliminacjach do pucharów europejskich – zauważa Portugalczyk. Do osiągnięcia wyznaczonych celów, czyli mistrzostwa i Puchar Polski, potrzebna była ciężka praca, poświęcenie, pasja oraz odwaga. Szczególne słowa kieruję do piłkarzy, z którymi przeżyłem wspaniałe chwile. Oczywiście, nie wszystko było dobre. To dziwne lub nie, ale w ciągu ostatnich dziesięciu lat, Legia miała 20 trenerów – zakończył były trener “Wojskowych”.

As is well known, last April I finished my work in the Légia Warsaw and after a few days of reflection and rest, I understand that it is the right time to address a few words to the many supporters of Legia who contact me and to the followers of my professional career. I begin by reaffirming my great pride in having been elected the ideal man to lead the Legia team. A big club with millions of fans, which are undoubtedly some of the best I've seen in the world and who are themselves the true soul of Legia. when I arrived, the club was in 5th place in the championship and reigned the lack of confidence and uncertainty resulting from a frustrating start to the season after the defeat in the Polish Super Cup and the early eliminations in the qualification for the Champions and Europa League at the feet of semi-amateur teams. To achieve what we were asked for(to win the Championship and obtain the Tetra), this required a lot of work, dedication, passion and courage to make difficult decisions and to reverse the non-destination path that the team had taken before my arrival and to put back Legia in a position worthy of its size. All this work made it possible for the team to have a 17-game phase with only 1 loss and with this arrived to a position where it depended only on itself to be Champions with 10 rounds to go. I am delighted to have been able to help to restore the confidence and quality of the players, to give back the joy to the supporters and fill up the stadium once again, and to have valued the club by putting young players from the academy playing in club's 1st team. To the players I leave a special word, we lived great moments together and made a remarkable recovery they are now much stronger, competitive and in a position to regain the title, knowing this gives me a great feeling of pride and gratitude for what we have built together. Obviously not everything was good, strangely or not, in the last 10 years Legia had 20 coaches, however with all my frontality and profissional honesty I would like to wish the greatest successes and congratulations to the magnificent athletes I met and to the fantastic fans of this great club.
